After a great Festival Time in Munich and Salzburg Ivor Bolton will now open the season with his orchestra in Basel:

With his Eighth Symphony, the last he completed, the Bruckner-Cycle of the Sinfonieorchester Basel is now drawing to a close. It embodies the composer's work with all of its complexities and contradictions. And Bruckner was correct: the Eighth Symphony has proven a mystery.

Successful Agrippina in Munich

"On July 23rd the second new production of the Munich Opera Festival premiered: "Agrippina". Alice Coote sung the title role, Franco Fagioli her son Nerone, Ivor Bolton conducted the Bayerische Staatsorchester. Barrie Kosky showed once more that he is the warlock of person direction.
