Britten’s Gloriana in Madrid!
After last season’s resounding success of Benjamin Britten’s Billy Budd Ivor Bolton will now be conducting one of the least known operas by the composer: Gloriana.
Originally composed in honour of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II this work, dealing with the story of Queen Elizabeth I. (also called Gloriana) and the Earl of Essex, will have its debut in Madrid on April 12.
